Life as a Widower

A young widowed father opening up about living with loss

I took the picture of my wife on the left at Christmas in 2010 and the picture on the right of our son today. It's so strange to see those same eyes looking back at me but so beautiful at the same time. I took the picture of my wife on the left at Christmas in 2010 and the one on the right of our son today. It’s beautiful to still be able to catch glimpses of Desreen through our little boy. Thank God for the fact we carry cameras in our pockets everywhere we go these days.

My first response was “those eyes” then my mind jumped to the eyes being the mirror to the soul. Then I became aware of how blessed you are Ben. Both now, before, and forever. A precious, eloquent (& elegant!) image.
